Collard greens are known to be very nutritious and rich in vitamins. This poriyal is a great way to incorporate this healthy green into your meals. Pair it with your favorite rice and curry combination and enjoy!

Ingredients
5cupscollard greens(chopped)
1½cuponion(chopped) (around 1 medium onion)
3tbspmoong dhal
1tspurad dhal
½tspmustard seeds
3red chilies(split in half)
2tbspoil
2tbspgrated coconut
salt to taste
Instructions
Remove the thick stem portion of the collard greens. Chop and set aside.
Wash moong dhal in a bowl and soak in warm water for 15 minutes.
Now, add oil to a pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds, urad dhal and red chilies to the pan.
When mustard seeds start to crackle, add chopped onions and sauté for a minute
Add the chopped collard greens and sauté for 1 minute.
Next, drain the water from the moong dhal. Add moong dhal to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes.
Then, mix in grated coconut and add salt. Mix well and cook for 1 minute.
