Who doesn't love fried food, especially when you can eat it for breakfast. These soft and fluffy pooris are sure to brighten up your mornings.
Ingredients
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 cup water (adjust as needed)
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Add flour, salt and oil to a bowl. Mix well.
- Add small amounts of water at a time and mix into a dough. Be careful not to make the dough too wet as wet dough will absorb more oil when frying.
- Divide and roll the dough into small even sized balls.
- Apply oil to the dough and flatten the balls into circles using a rolling pin or a poori press.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Once hot, add one poori at a time to the oil.
- Once the poori lightly puffs up, gently press down on the poori.
- Carefully flip the poori. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
- Serve hot with potato masala or channa.
