Cereal Mixture

Corn Flakes

Rice Krispies cereal

Rice Chex

halved cashews

almonds
½

golden raisins

peanuts

dry grated coconut

mustard seeds

tsp
cumin seeds

green chilies
(slit down the middle)

turmeric powder

red chili powder

asafoetida
(also known as hing or perungayam)

coriander seeds
(ground into a course powder)

rock sugar (optional)
(also known as kalkandu)

Instructions
In a heavy bottom pan, add oil.
When hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ajwain and asafoetida.
Once mustard seeds crackle, add green chilies and curry leaves.
Add almonds and peanuts. On low flame, roast nuts and green chilies until they are not raw.
Add cashews and raisins and roast in low flame. Be careful not to burn them.
Add turmeric powder, coriander seeds and red chili powder.
Mix all cereals in a small bowl and add to the pan.
Mix cereal and nuts well under low flame. Add salt to taste.
Cool to room temperature and add rock sugar if using.
Serve as a snack and store in an air container for long shelf life.
