Okra or Vendakkai in Tamil is used in so many different ways in Indian cooking but this fry is the easiest. Simply saute okra in some spices and you'll have a tasty side dish ready in no time.

Ingredients
- 4 cups okra (chopped)
- 1 cup onion (chopped)
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp masala powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp urad dhal
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Add oil to a frying pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds and urad dhal.
- Once the mustard seeds crackle, add onions. Saute until the raw smell fades.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and masala powder. Mix well.
- Then, add okra and saute until the stickiness goes away.
- Sprinkle with salt and mix well. Cook for 7-10 minutes.
- Serve hot as a side dish.
