Anything fried always tastes good, but add some spices to it and its sure to taste even better.

Ingredients

  • 2 plantains (cut into thick matchsticks)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp masala powder
  • tsp cinnamon powder
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ cup oil (for shallow fry)

For ground seasoning:

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup curry leaves (4 sprigs)

Instructions

  • Coarsely grind the fennel seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, garlic and curry leaves. Add to cut plantain.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, masala powder and salt to plantains. Toss and set aside for at least 30 minutes.
  • Pour oil into a frying pan. Once hot, carefully add a few pieces at a time and fry until fully cooked.
  • Check for spice and salt and adjust as needed.
  • Serve hot as a side dish.
