Ajwain Paratha

Known to improve digestion, ajwain tastes great in many dishes, especially parathas. These multigrain parathas will give you the nutrition you need to kick start your mornings.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups multigrain flour
  • 1 tsp ajwain
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • water as required

Instructions

  • Combine the flour, ajwain, oil, salt and water. Knead into a smooth dough.
  • Rest the dough for 30 minutes.
  • Make small balls from the dough. Roll each ball into a circle or triangle. Check the notes for tips on how to make triangle parathas.
  • Place the paratha on a hot pan/tawa. Cook on both sides and spread oil onto parathas once cooked.
  • Serve hot with curry, dhal or raitha.

Notes

  • To make traingle parathas: roll dough ball into a circle and spread oil onto the dough. Fold the circle in half and then in half again. Roll the quarter circle out to make a triangle.
